If you haven’t seen the December 2019 Adk Sports:
And if you’re “in” to Fat Tire Winter Biking and/or a nice little 5K Snowshoe Run/Walk @ our Very Own Gurney Lane, this post is for You & multiple events & edification for Your whole Family!
Time to start planning for the soon-to-be New Year
Snow or no snow, the second annual Gurney Lane Fat Bike race and fun day will take place on Sunday January 26th at Gurney Lane Recreation Area in Queensbury, NY. There will be a 5K snowshoe running race at 10 AM followed by a day of Fat tire riding and racing.
Both Fat tire races will start at 1 PM. *3.8″ minimum tire width. (even if there’s no snow, it’s still a fat bike race!)*
At Noon there will be a no-drop intermediate group ride, limited to 25 riders so please pre-reg!
At 2:30 pm bring your appetite for the Frozen Ring Donut Race. The fun race will be held on a short track, where riders will ride a lap, eat a donut, ride a lap, so on… First one to cross the line after 3 laps wins! The donuts this year are sponsored by Birch Bark Eatery in downtown Glens Falls, check them out!
There are indoor heated bathrooms and warming area. A huge outdoor pavilion to hang out in and some great trails. Come on out and ride and have some fun. There will be a 5 mile and 10 Mile Race as well as some fat bike demos. Come on out and enjoy the day.
All money goes to support the grooming and maintenance efforts for Gurney lane and the surrounding trails. Any donations are gratefully accepted.
