The Ti Ride

What is the Ti Ride?

The Ti Ride has been held on a Sunday in mid-July every summer for many, many years and in the past was sponsored by the Inside Edge.  The ride involves bicycling up to the Steamboat Landing in Ticonderoga (40-50 miles); meeting and boarding the Mohican; then taking a leisurely cruise back to Lake George Village. The rides are unsupported and each rider is responsible to arrive at dock on time. The Mohican will carry your backpack or bag up to Ticonderoga for you, and bring your bicycle back on the Mohican with you.

Ride Details:

Parking is available at the Lake George Steamboat Company lot across from the pier (nominal parking fee for the day).  You may load your personal bag on the Mohican’s bow before departing on your ride.

Start time: 7:00 am (recommended):  Ride from Lake George Village (earlier if you need more time to cover the 40-50 mile ride).

Routes:  2 ride options from Lake George Village:

  • Route: 9 through Lake George Village; follow  9N  north through Bolton Landing  and over Tongue Mountain to The Hague  (39.7 miles) then …
  • Route:   9 through Lake George Village to Warrensburg ; follow Schroon River Rd. to Brant Lake, Rt. 8 over Graphite Mt. into The Hague  (48.5 miles) then…

Both rides then meet in Hague & ride the same route from Hague to Baldwin Dock: from The Hague, ride 8.2 miles north on Rte. 9N.  Just after the Ice Cream spot, turn right on Alexandria Ave.; right on Baldwin Rd., then left on Cottage Rd. to Baldwin Dock boat landing.

WARNING:  Road surface over Tongue Mountain is in poor condition.  The recommended route is to ride over Graphite Mountain.

NOTE: The Mohican is scheduled to arrive at the Steamboat Landing about 1:00 pm.   It is highly recommended that cyclists arrive at the dock by 12:30 pm.  If you are late, you will miss the boat.

Cost (for the Mohican):  Reservations for the return trip on the Mohican are required. You may reserve a spot & pay for boat passage at the Lake George Steamboat Co.’s website:
